The International Relations Minor

To achieve a minor in IR, a student must do passing work in six (6) courses. Only one non-College course may be applied to the minor. All six courses must be taken for a grade, and no course taken on a Pass/Fail basis will count towards the minor. Courses used to satisfy the requirements of the International Relations Minor may be double-counted for other majors. All courses for the minor must be those with the appropriate course attributes for the IR Major/Minor.  We do not accept courses by petition for the minor.

  • PSCI0400: Introduction to International Relations
  • International History (Choose 2 from courses with AIRH attribute):
    • HIST 1190: American Diplomatic History Since 1776
    • HIST 1191: The U.S. and the World Since 1898
    • HIST 1550: East Asian Diplomacy
    • HIST 1759: Technology, Policy & War
    • HIST 1760: Strategy, Policy & War

    • HIST 3921: European and the world since 1914
  • ECON 0500: International Economics OR PSCI 1402: International Political Economy

  • Two electives (2 C.U.) coded with coruse attributes AIRE, AIRH, AIRN, AIRP or AIRS

Students pursuing a minor in international relations must adhere strictly to the minor curriculum. We do not accept petitions or grant exceptions to the IR minor
