What can I do with an International Relations degree?
International Relations is an interdisciplinary major which develops skills demanded by a variety of fields, including the business, law, government, and nonprofit sectors. Many students choose to attend graduate school upon completion of their degree. To get an idea of what post-graduation paths IR majors have followed in the past, refer to the Options for International Relations booklet.
What types of courses do IR majors take?
Because of its interdisciplinary nature, the International Relations major draws on courses from a variety of departments to form its curriculum, particularly Political Science, History, and Economics. During each pre-registration period students should consult the approved course list for the upcoming semester to see what classes will be offered and how they fulfill the requirements of the major.
