Careers in IR: Pursuing Government Careers at State, Defense, or Intelligence - Conversation with Dr. Samuel Helfont

Monday, October 26, 2015 - 12:00pm

Careers in IR is a weekly lunch discussion on various career opportunities for IR grads.  In our first session we feature Dr. Samuel Helfont.

Dr. Helfont is a Lecturer in the International Relations Program, and a Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.  Prior to completing his PhD in Near Easter Studies at Princeton, Dr. Helfont served two tours in the Navy.

Dr. Helfont will discuss the "nuts and bolts" of starting a career in government, and will answer questions you might have with respect to specific career options.  So if you are interested in pursuing a career in government, this is a great opportunity to gain some insight into what it is like to work for the government, and how to think about your career trajectory.

Space is limited, and a box lunch will be provided, SO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Please RSVP to Mark Castillo mcastil@sas.upenn.edu by Friday 12PM noon, 10/23/15
